Lassen County sends out a "Committees & Commissions" list showing members and expiration dates they currently have for the district. Need to verify the information and inform them of any discrepancies.
District secretary needs to complete and deliver a "Notice of Elective Offices to be Filled". If there are any changes to the district boundary, a mew map must be included with the form. Any person appointed to fill a vacancy must run for the un-expired term during the next General Election, as per Government Code Section 1780. The person elected shall hold office for the un-expired balance of the term (this would be considered a "Short-Term).
The district board needs to pass a Resolution Ordering the Election and this needs to be delivered to the clerk.
Candidates are required to go to the clerk's office and file for office .
