9th Annual Green Waste Results
Results of our 9th Annual Green Waste Event.
We filled a total of 5-30 yard bins. A huge shout out to all who volunteered we could not have done this without you !! Thank you Burt Cooper (who was biting at the bit to get started) for picking up all the piles of green waste with your backhoe (he has a hard time walking but once he’s in that backhoe he’s like a 20 year old), Michail Harding (yes that’s how it’s spelled) who turns 78 this month and the hardest working person I know. Thank you Jim Allan and the use of your dump trailer, Gary Skadron and your dump trailer, Frank Argiso (1st time volunteer), and Fire Chief Ross Kassebaum (who always made time to participate every day even though he had another job), Cathy Hunter, Julie Raymond & Craig Corder, for manning our booth. On the other side of town there was Mike Jimenez with his dump trailer, thank you! Thank you Marilyn Diven for those fantastic homemade sandwiches and cookies. And a special thank you to Sandi & Dante Perano for the use of your property for the bins. There was one bin that could not be removed because it was too heavy (thanks Burt for the compacting). We had to pull out almost a third of it and put it in another bin. Last but not least is, the Lassen County Air Pollution Control District (Erik Edholm) who provided the funds for the bins, without you this would not have been possible, thank you !!!
FYI, there were 36 properties treated (cleaned up) for free through the Lassen Fire Safe Council’s Defensible Space Assistance Program grant.
