8th Annual Green Waste Results

Our 8th annual green waste event was a huge success!! We filled a total of seven 30 yard bins.  Thank you to Brian Phillipe who worked his tractor again this year & for his very generous donation to the fire department & to his mother-in-law Virginia Leavitt for her generous donation to the fire department. All the volunteers who helped with picking up piles, Jim Allan who used Burt’s dump trailer & Al Diven’s truck along with his wife Piper who was his spotter, my better half Gary Skadron for using his dump trailer & truck, Fred Buss who helped pick up piles along with Michelle Miller who took pictures (I still would like to get some of those). A special thank you to our Mayor Michail (yes that is the correct spelling) Harding who spotted me on the backhoe (I absolutely could not have done this without him). And finally to Burt Cooper who couldn’t be here but gave us permission to use his dump trailer & backhoe. Then we have Allen Diven (who will be 90 years old next month) who waited at the bins to help unload the dump trailers (God Bless him, he has more energy than most people half his age). His lovely wife Marilyn Diven who provided lunch from Subway (really good sandwiches) and cookies too!! Thank you Cathy Hunter (on the CCCSD board,CCVFA board, Firewise board & resident chatterbox :)) & our new fire Chief Ross Kassebuam (he also got into the bins to make more room & was there even on the days he had to work) who sat at the park and took the hours and money spent from all who came to dump their green waste. Oh I almost forgot, Mike Jimenez who used his dump trailer, along with Jack Quinlan who used his bobcat, they picked up green waste on the other side. They made like 15 dump runs (I didn’t think they were ever going to stop). Something you should know about Jack Quinlan is, he helped residents ALL winter long clear their properties of snow with his tractor. Thank you to all who participated. If you haven’t given me your time & money spent clearing your property, please make a point to email me at cccsdwater@frontiernet.net , call me and leave a message at (530) 256-3096 or on this Facebook page. I need this information for our annual recertification for being a Firewise community. If I forgot anyone I apologize, please call me out on it.
